In a prominent position with a completely open site, this design needed to create a space that felt private and provided an outdoor sanctuary to enjoy the Summer months. Structural elements provided immediate privacy for use of the pool with high end finishes of grey limestone and louvred screens. In time the garden with its mix of native species and cool climate perennials will grow up and fill in the existing gardens, wrapping the landscape and give its owners a sanctuary to enjoy. Boulder retaining batter provides a softer solution to tiering the landscape spaces. Edible gardens with a mix of raised beds and espalier structures create an additional garden room.
